    How to use

    Appalachian Decking System

Tanzite’s Appalachian decking system consists of two boards, and three clips for the deck surface, and one board with three different clips for the sides, or fascia, of the deck. Groove Boards - these are the primary deck/stair surface boards. They are fastened using the starter clip at the ends, then the grooved clip, which goes between the boards.

Edge Boards - these are used on the exposed perimeter of the deck/stairs, as they have a finished edge. The one side is grooved, and held down using the groove clip. (the groove clip can hold three boards at the same time) The other side, has an internal groove, which is held down, using either the Starter Clip or the Edge Clip.

Fascia Boards - these are used on the vertical sides of the deck, or stairs. The very top board is secured using either the High-rise Clip or the Single Fascia Clip. The very bottom board is held using the Single Fascia Clip. If you have more than a single row, use the Double Facia Clip between each.

Grooved Clip - used to hold down all of the deck, surface boards, except the edges.

Starter Clip - surface mounted clip to hold down the perimeter of the surface boards. This clip is fastened before mounting the board. (this clip is the same as the Single Fascia Clip)

Edge Clip - a side mounted clip to hold down the perimeter of the surface board. This clip is fastened after the board has been placed.

Single Fascia Clip - this clip is used to secure the top and bottom of the Fascia boards. Can be used in place of the Double Fascia Clip. (this clip is the same as the Starter Clip)

High-Rise Clip - this clip is used to hold the fascia above the level of the rim joist. This allows the fascia board to be mounted, even with the top of the deck surface, hiding the sides of the surface boards.

Double Fascia Clip - this clip is used between each of the Facia Boards. It holds both the bottom of one, then the top of the next Fascia Board.
